How to Avoid Being a Victim of Yaka Units Scam in Uganda

Yaka Token scams are a sort of online scam that is common in Uganda. Scammers pose as sellers of cheap Yaka Token coupons or units in these frauds. Scammers would frequently advertise their Yaka Units at a considerably lesser price than what Umeme Limited charges.

To carry up the fraud, the scammer usually contacts potential victims using eye-catching advertisements on their social media pages or channels, particularly Facebook.

They then give the victim extremely low-cost Yaka unit packages and demand payment in advance. The fraudster frequently avoids meeting in person to accept the payment and will always request payment by mobile money.

After the victim makes the purchase, the con artist either inboxes the victim with a false Yaka Token Voucher number or blocks the victim’s contact information before vanishing without providing the discounted units that were promised. The victim is then left without the utilities they had purchased, and the con artist has made off with their money.

How to avoid the “Cheap Yaka Units” Utility scam.

To avoid becoming a victim of utility scams in Uganda, it is critical to be aware of common scammers’ strategies and to practice caution when making online purchases. Be wary of deals that appear to be too good to be true, such as ridiculously low pricing for Yaka power bill vouchers or Yaka units.

Purchase Yaka Tokens or pay electricity bills from Umeme Limited, the only known established utility firm, and make payments through legitimate official channels as directed by Umeme like Mobile Money, Pay Way, and Banks. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to seek help from Umeme Limited’s toll-free lines or social media handles.
