URA Warns Public to Be Cautious of New False Job Recruitment Platforms

The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has issued a warning to the public about a new fake 2024/2025 Job Recruitment Portal designed to scam unsuspecting Ugandans. The fraudulent website (https://2024-program.xyz/uganda), posing as a legitimate URA recruitment platform, aims to deceive individuals into revealing personal information and paying money for fictitious job opportunities.

How the Scam Works

The scam portal, disguised as a URA website, advertises new vacant positions and invites applicants to submit their applications, along with payment for the application process. The scammers may also request sensitive personal information, leaving victims vulnerable to identity theft and financial loss.

How to Avoid Being Scammed

– Verify job openings on the official URA website or authorized channels.

– Never pay for job applications or interviews.

– Be cautious of unsolicited emails or calls with job offers.

– Do not share personal information or send money to unverified sources.

– Report suspicious cases to the authorities.
