The Uganda Police has warned the public to beware of Online fraudsters on common shopping platforms as we head into the festive season.
According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the Cyber crime unit has been getting an increase in complaints of victims of cyber fraudsters and con-men who have taken advantage of online shopping deals, ticketing, and donations to charity, among others.
We advise shoppers to be vigilant and ask as many questions as possible before committing transactions with other online users. Ensure that the process is transparent and proof of payment provided before exchanging money or anything with anyone online.
