Ugandan vehicle owners are being warned about a rising scam involving fake installation agents claiming that number plates are in limited stock. These fraudsters demand extra fees from unsuspecting motorists, promising to secure plates faster or guarantee availability.

The Truth about ITMS Number Plate Availability

The Intelligent Transport Monitoring System (ITMS) has confirmed that its mobile teams always carry enough plates for daily installations, plus an additional 50 extra reserve plates to meet demand. This means that claims of scarcity are false and only intended to exploit vehicle owners.
