Fraudsters are posing as employees of Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU) to deceive service providers into making payments in exchange for service contracts. These scammers target both potential and prequalified service providers, falsely claiming that payment is required to be considered for providing services.
How the Scam Works:
- Impersonation – Scammers pretend to be HFHU staff members and contact service providers.
- False Promises – They claim that payments are needed for consideration or approval.
- Fraudulent Requests – They provide fake instructions for payment, leading to financial loss.
How to Protect Yourself:
- Do Not Make Any Payments – HFHU does not require service providers to pay any fees.
- Verify Communications – Contact HFHU directly via noffice@hfhuganda.org or procurement@hfhuganda.org to confirm legitimacy.
- Report Suspicious Activity – Share fraud attempts with HFHU to help stop scammers.
HFHU has a zero-tolerance policy on fraud and urges all service providers to stay vigilant. If you receive any suspicious request, report it immediately. Stay informed and protect yourself from fraudsters!
